Vocals

As a background vocalist, Sarah has been fortunate to work with such pop/rock artists as Clara Lofaro, Garland Jeffreys, Lizzie and the Makers and more.  In addition to live and studio background vocals, Sarah offers vocal production and arranging services plus vocal coaching to help artists connect to their bodies, trust their instincts, achieve optimal takes in the shortest amount of time and avoid vocal fatigue. For an example of Sarah’s work, check out Monica Ott’s “Veil of Time,” produced by Joe Bonadio (Sting) with Marc Shulman (Suzanne Vega) on guitar, Josh Dodes (Marc Cohn) on keys and recorded, mixed and mastered by Robert L. Smith at Defy Recordings.

Teaching

Offering beginner to intermediate level private instruction to kids and adults since 2019, Sarah has taught piano and voice in New York City and Los Angeles to over sixty students.

Through gentle, clear communication, ample encouragement and unwavering curiosity, Sarah’s thoughtfully tailored lessons include piano and vocal warmups, sight reading, ear training, music theory, breathing technique and relaxation exercises and performance coaching.

Touting an undergraduate background in Childhood Development (including assistant teaching) at Sarah Lawrence College’s renowned Early Childhood Center, Sarah’s an especially great fit for younger students, including pre-schoolers. She currently serves on the teaching staff of Los Angeles Music and Art School, Lyon Music and Piano Teacher Girl and is a proud student of Jackie Presti, Alex Nolan and Clifford Carter.
